Behind the Scenes Tour

  • 11th July 2018

Want to look behind the scenes of the Archive & Archaeology Service and see some of the highlights of our collections? We’re running one of our popular tours on Monday afternoon. Everyone is intrigued to see places they don’t usually get to see beyond the ‘staff only’ doors, and we will take you beyond those, and show you some fascinating documents and artefacts. We’ll take you to see:

Archive Strongrooms – see Shakespeare’s marriage bond and hear about the mysteries connected to it; view a letter sent from the Titanic on headed paper before it sank; admire some of the beautiful maps and charters which we have on display

Archaeology – handle some of the archaeological finds we’ve uncovered

Conservation Studio – find out how we care for and conserve our precious documents

The tour will last from 2:00-3:30pm. You can book your place, which costs £6, at https://e-services.worcestershire.gov.uk/LibraryEvents/EventDetails.aspx?id=495
